SmallClaw Privacy Policy

SmallClaw is provided by Smallsoft Pty Ltd (“Smallsoft”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how SmallClaw handles information when you use the SmallClaw macOS app, related websites, support, purchases, updates, model integrations, and optional connected services.

SmallClaw is designed as a local-first macOS app. Settings, credentials, workflow data, and runtime records are stored locally on your Mac by default. When you configure an external LLM provider or connected service, relevant requests are sent to the provider or service you choose.

1. Information Smallsoft Does Not Collect by Default

Smallsoft does not automatically collect or centrally host your SmallClaw prompts, AI outputs, sessions, local files, skills, task history, project data, or runtime logs.

SmallClaw itself does not provide, host, operate, or resell an LLM or generative AI model service. You may optionally connect your own supported model provider credentials.

2. Information Stored Locally on Your Mac

SmallClaw may store app settings, credentials, workflow records, usage records, audit logs, permissions, automation settings, skills, and integration settings locally on your Mac.

Sensitive credentials such as API keys and channel tokens are stored using macOS security features such as Keychain.

Deleting the app may not automatically remove all local settings, credentials, or support files.

3. When Data May Leave Your Mac

Data may leave your Mac when you enable or use features that require external services, including:

sending prompts, instructions, file excerpts, tool context, or outputs to a model provider you configure;
using messaging or channel integrations;
using browser automation, web access, webhooks, external APIs, or connected services;
enabling Apple iCloud or Apple ID based sync features;
making Mac App Store purchases, subscriptions, restores, or refunds through Apple;
contacting Smallsoft for support.

When you configure a third-party provider, relevant data is sent according to the provider configuration you entered. The provider’s own privacy policy and terms apply.

4. LLM Providers and AI Processing

SmallClaw can send user instructions and related context to the LLM provider selected by the user.

Smallsoft does not receive your private LLM API keys when you enter them in the app. These keys are stored locally on your Mac.

If you choose to send sensitive, personal, confidential, regulated, or third-party data to an external LLM provider, you are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to do so and that the provider is appropriate for your use case.

AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. SmallClaw should not be used as the sole basis for legal, medical, financial, employment, safety, or other high-impact decisions.

5. Purchases and Subscriptions

For the Mac App Store version of SmallClaw, purchases, subscriptions, refunds, and restore purchases are handled by Apple.

Smallsoft does not receive your full payment card details from Apple. Apple may provide transaction, entitlement, subscription, or purchase status information necessary to operate App Store purchases.

For the Direct version, licence activation and payment-related services may be handled by Smallsoft or third-party payment and licensing providers.

6. Support and Website Information

If you contact Smallsoft for support, we may collect the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, support message, screenshots, diagnostic details, and purchase or entitlement information needed to resolve your request.

We use this information to respond to your request, investigate issues, improve the product, and maintain business records.

7. Permissions

SmallClaw may request macOS permissions depending on the features you use, such as file access, network access, calendar access, desktop automation, accessibility permissions, automation permissions, or user-selected folder access.

You control whether to grant these permissions in macOS System Settings and in SmallClaw’s own permission controls.

8. Tracking and Advertising

SmallClaw does not use app data to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies for advertising purposes.

SmallClaw does not include third-party advertising SDKs for behavioural advertising.

9. Data Retention

Local data remains on your Mac until you delete it, reset the app, remove relevant local files, or remove related credentials.

Support communications and business records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide support, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain records.

Third-party providers retain data according to their own policies.

10. Your Choices

You can choose whether to configure any LLM provider, choose which provider and model to use, remove or replace API keys, disable integrations and permissions, delete local app data where supported, and contact Smallsoft about privacy-related questions.

11. International Transfers

Smallsoft is based in Australia. Third-party services you choose to connect may process data in other countries.

If you configure external LLM providers, messaging platforms, Apple services, or other integrations, data may be transferred to and processed in countries where those services operate.

12. Children

SmallClaw is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through SmallClaw.

13. Security

SmallClaw uses macOS security features to help protect sensitive credentials. However, no system is completely secure.

You are responsible for protecting your Mac account, disk encryption, backups, API keys, third-party accounts, and any data you choose to process through SmallClaw.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we may provide notice through the Smallsoft website, the app, release notes, or other reasonable means.

API Key、通道令牌等敏感凭证会使用 macOS Keychain 等系统安全功能保存。

删除应用本身不一定会自动删除所有本地设置、凭证或支持文件。

3. 数据何时可能离开你的 Mac

当你启用或使用需要外部服务的功能时，数据可能会离开你的 Mac，包括：

将 prompts、指令、文件片段、工具上下文或输出发送给你配置的模型提供商；
使用消息通道或第三方集成；
使用浏览器自动化、网页访问、webhook、外部 API 或连接服务；
启用 Apple iCloud 或 Apple ID 相关同步功能；
通过 Apple 进行 Mac App Store 购买、订阅、恢复购买或退款；
联系 Smallsoft 获取支持。

当你配置第三方服务时，相关数据会按照你输入的配置发送给该服务。该第三方服务自己的隐私政策和条款适用。

4. LLM 提供商和 AI 处理

SmallClaw 可以将用户指令和相关上下文发送给用户选择的 LLM 提供商。

当你在应用中输入私有 LLM API Key 时，Smallsoft 不会接收这些 API Key。这些密钥会保存在你的 Mac 上。

如果你选择将敏感、个人、机密、受监管或第三方数据发送给外部 LLM 提供商，你需要自行确认你有权这样做，并确认该提供商适合你的使用场景。

AI 输出可能不准确、不完整或不适当。SmallClaw 不应作为法律、医疗、金融、雇佣、安全或其他高影响决策的唯一依据。

5. 购买和订阅

对于 Mac App Store 版本的 SmallClaw，购买、订阅、退款和恢复购买由 Apple 处理。

Smallsoft 不会从 Apple 接收你的完整支付卡信息。Apple 可能会提供用于运行 App Store 购买功能所必需的交易、权益、订阅或购买状态信息。

对于 Direct 版，如适用，许可证激活和支付相关服务可能由 Smallsoft 或第三方支付、授权服务提供商处理。

6. 支持和网站信息

如果你联系 Smallsoft 获取支持，我们可能会收集你主动提供的信息，例如姓名、电子邮件地址、支持请求内容、截图、诊断信息，以及解决问题所需的购买或授权信息。

7. 权限

SmallClaw 不包含用于行为广告的第三方广告 SDK。

9. 数据保留

10. 你的选择

你可以选择是否配置任何 LLM 提供商，选择使用哪个提供商和模型，删除或替换 API Key，关闭集成和权限，删除受支持的本地应用数据，并就隐私问题联系 Smallsoft。

11. 国际传输

Smallsoft 位于澳大利亚。你选择连接的第三方服务可能会在其他国家或地区处理数据。

如果你配置外部 LLM 提供商、消息平台、Apple 服务或其他集成，数据可能会被传输到这些服务运营所在的国家或地区并在那里处理。

12. 儿童

SmallClaw 并非面向儿童。我们不会有意通过 SmallClaw 收集儿童的个人信息。

13. 安全

SmallClaw 使用 macOS 系统安全功能帮助保护敏感凭证。但没有任何系统能够保证绝对安全。
